Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Wabuva Majeyo ("we," "us," or "our"), operator of the website located at wabuva-majeyo.info ("Site"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with your use of the Site. This policy applies to residents of the United States and is informed by applicable federal and state privacy frameworks, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act) regarding unfair or deceptive practices. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two categories: information you provide voluntarily, and information collected automatically through your interaction with the Site. Voluntarily provided information includes any data submitted through our contact form, including your name, email address, subject line, and the content of your message. We do not collect payment information, government identification, or sensitive personal information of any kind. Automatically collected information includes standard server log data such as your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is collected through server infrastructure and through analytics tools described in Section 4 of this policy. We do not use this information to personally identify individual visitors in ordinary operation.
2. How We Use Information
Information you submit through the contact form is used solely to read and respond to your inquiry. We do not use contact form submissions for marketing purposes, do not add submitters to mailing lists, and do not share submission content with third parties except as described in Section 5 of this policy. Automatically collected information is used in aggregate form to understand how visitors interact with the Site, which pages are accessed most frequently, and where visitors come from geographically and in terms of traffic source. This analysis is used exclusively to improve the quality and relevance of content on the Site.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
To the extent any US state law requires identification of a lawful basis for data processing, we identify the following: for contact form submissions, the basis is your voluntary consent, expressed by completing and submitting the form; for automatically collected analytics data, the basis is our legitimate interest in understanding Site usage to maintain and improve content quality. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
4. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
The Site may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about how visitors use the Site. The data collected by GA4 includes pages visited, session duration, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic region derived from IP address. GA4 transmits this information to Google's servers, where it is processed and stored. Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymization enabled where technically supported. You may opt out of GA4 data collection by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Additional cookie-related controls are described in our separate Cookie Policy.
5. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances: to service providers who assist in operating the Site (such as hosting providers), who are contractually required to protect the information and may not use it for independent purposes; to comply with applicable law, a court order, or other legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wabuva Majeyo, its users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
Contact form submissions received by email are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address the inquiry and maintain records of correspondence, typically no longer than two years unless the subject matter requires longer retention. Analytics data collected through GA4 is subject to the data retention settings configured in the GA4 property, which we have set to the minimum available retention period for user-level and event-level data. Aggregate and anonymized analytics reports may be retained indefinitely as they do not constitute personal information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your state of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information has been collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Virginia residents have similar rights under the VCDPA. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have comparable rights. To exercise any applicable right, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, typically 45 days, with a possible extension of an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet or stored in our systems will be completely secure. The security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you access to certain areas or features of the Site, you are responsible for keeping any associated credentials confidential.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including links within content to source documentation on external platforms. These third-party websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit through links on this Site. The inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement of the linked website or its privacy practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or the Site's features. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you have questions about any changes, you may contact us at [email protected].
